  1. ‘On Writing’ is one of my top three favourite books on the topic. Numbers two and three in no particular order are Bird by Bird – Ann Lamott and Natalie Goldberg’s Writing Down the Bones. While Ms. Goldberg has written several on the subject, it is her first on writing and to date her best.

  2. I read this book a few years ago. I did not think of Stephen King as someone who would have thoughtful insights on writing. How wrong I was! It turned out to be one of my favorite books on writing, very concise, practical and thoughtful.
