Well, what a special novel this is. I don’t think I’ve read anything quite like it, and I certainly didn’t expect it to be so unique. I love it, and a quarter of the way through I wasn’t sure I was going to.

  1. I read it about a year ago, and I too struggled a bit. I even put it away for some time, which happens occasionally, but I did pick it up again, and I finished it. What almost broke my heart were two things: the answering machine messages, and the speechless granddad. So much sadness. But still a will to keep on going, to find some meaning.
