As you all might know, I’ll soon be releasing my debut fantasy novel, The Silver Crystal, and I’m considering putting up book two for preorder soon after. I’m contemplating the different ways of releasing books on a schedule, so this is a topic I’m wading through.
I thought it would be helpful to other authors to share in the knowledge! Answer the questions below so that we all can check each others answers and help each other sell more books. There are a lot of questions, but I wanted to be thorough to help us all out, as I couldn’t find any resource quite like this in my research.
Any sharing or reblogging of this post would only help us all more, so please consider doing so!
Reblogged this on The Reluctant Poet.

Got server error on all attempts to answer.
The gist is, no, I’ve never pre-ordered. I like to read samples of every book I buy. If I like the first one enough, I will remember to come back for the next one. I’m not big on series and prefer stand alone most of the time.
As a writer, I’ve never had much benefit from pre-orders. I may try again on my next Fantasy series, we’ll see.
In my own researches, this appears to be mostly useful to Romance writers who write long series.

There are many more places you can preorder. I have preordered poetry books on Finishing Line Press.
